Overhang Requirements:

Maximum legal overhang allowed is 3' (three feet) front and 6' (six feet) rear.
Overhang exceeding these dimensions will require over-length permits.

Permits Valid For:

Single Trip Permits are valid for three (3) travel days.

Operating Time

Operating time for permitted loads is Sunrise to Sunset Monday through Friday

Weekend Travel

All permitted travel is restricted on the weekends.

Divisible Loads

If the load is reducible, it must be reduced with no exceptions.  This includes buckets, Counterweights, blades, etc.

Restrictions

Toll Roads are restricted for permitted loads.   If crossing Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, carrier must call Corp of Engineers for any necessary surveys or arrangements.   Corp of Engineers - 216-656-6736

Spring Weight Restrictions

There are no seasonal restrictions for the State of Delaware

Superload Requirements

Loads or vehicles with dimensions of 120' long x 15' wide x 15' high, and 120,000 lbs. or more are considered Super-loads.  Loads over 120' long must receive permission from the District Engineer in every district that the load is moving through.  Loads over 15' high must call the Signal supervisor at 302-323-4488 or 302-739-4366.  Super-load applications should be allowed up to five (5) days for processing and approval.
